2wd lift

I have a 1984 GMC c1500 long bed 2wd, with a the 305 (not a big fan of the 305) anyways, I'm wanting to lift it 2-3 inches without using a body lift and Iv done my research and all Iv come across is 4wd conversions. The thought of doing it crossed my mind but finding a donor truck for around 500 is kinda hard to do if I don't want to take a road trip to get one. My other options s just to swap some parts out to give it the extra lift I need. I'm using it as a farm truck and sometimes a daily driver. The factory ride just isn't enough to have a bed full of tools and stuff to put-put across a wet pastor without getting hung out stuck. I just want to be able to have some clearance and a little more grip woth bigger tires. What are some of y'all's suggestions?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
