Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
i have a complete hydroboost from a 77 dually. its still in a running truck so let me know how complete you need it and i will get you a price with shipping. example: do you need things like the brake pedal assembly and power steering pump/brackets or just the firewall brackets/hydro unit/ and hoses (any bolts associated with this will be included). the system works but leaks between the hydro and master cylinder because i forgot to install the o-ring. master cylinder is new(ish). will send you some pics tomorrow night. thanks

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
Probably going to need all of it.
I don't have anything but manual brakes & steering at this time. I'll try and get the power steering box local - I expect shipping on the heavy ps box would make it out of my price range. But yes, I need pretty much a complete setup. Thanks, Robert

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
Depend on size could you use a flat-rate box from usps?

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
Yes, I was able to fit a 79 4x4 power steering box in a usps large flat rate box.

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
sorry for the crappy pics. total with shipping would be $350 which would include:
hydroboost/master cylinder/prop valve w lines to mc/all hoses to ps/ps pump and brackets+bolts/ps pump belt/ps box+bolts. will be shipped in 2 boxes to prevent damage. if you dont want the ps box then subtract $125.00. the only thing to check would be that this would work with your current brake pedal set up. could include the pedal set up from this truck for an additional $60 shipped (likely a third box). thanks for your time.

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
Do you know if the power steering pump has the 3 ports, or does it use a T-Fitting?

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
You know what?..... It really doesn't matter whether it has the T-Fitting or 3rd port.
If you're including everything that has to do with the whole hydroboost and power steering system - hoses, brackets, and such - and you're comfortable that it's in good working condition, I'll take it. If you could take me a pic of the pedal assembly where it mounts to the rod for the booster, I may want that also. Thanks.

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
I have been thinking of doing this setup for a while. Good move. Let us know when you get this in place and how well it works.

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
Quote:
hydroboost $155.99 master cylinder $19.99 power steering pump $39.99 power steering box $126.99 high pressure ps hose $17.99 return ps hose $11.99 so for $$372.94 you get new parts and now you only have to come up with some brackets for the power steering, a proportioning valve with lines to mc, and hoses from hydro to power steering and maybe the pedal assembly. just something to think about. thanks

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
I appreciate your upfront honesty.
I did look at the cost for new when I first saw your price of $350. But I then considered how you're including everything I need for the conversion. Saving me the time of tracking down all the components. On the other hand, getting all new gives me a little more security. I'm going to do some more research.

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
Oh, and another thing. ...
Most the pieces new at an Auto parts store also have a core charge.

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
good point! i think for the extra money for new parts and core charge you are getting peace of mind. then at least you are only tracking down common stuff (like ps brackets and maybe the pedal assembly). im sure you can get hydroboost hoses too. good luck with your project! i didnt get a chance to snap a pick of the pedals where the hydroboost attaches but i will do that for your. i only brought that point up because on the 4 speed pedals it does matter whether the booster is hydro or vacuum.

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
I've totalled up the pricing to put this together, along with the core charge, and I'm still interested in getting the whole package from you. If any of your components need rebuilding, I think it still will be the easier route, rather than trying to track down all the parts along with all the bits and pieces.
Let me know... Thanks, Robert

Re: WTB - Complete Hydroboost
That works.
I did want to make sure you could also send the rod coming out the back of the hydroboost. The part that connects to the pedal.
