67 truck door bottom replacement

How hard is it to replace the bottom inside of the 67 truck doors?

No different than 68-72, which isn't all that easy. Does the whole bottom need replaced or can a patch do the trick?

Re: 67 truck door bottom replacement

It can be done, but it would be a lot easier to find another door.

You can buy the lower inner panel (check with GMCPaul or Wes at Classic Heartbeat), but unless you're really good, you're probably going to have to replace the skin as well. You can also get just the lower skin, but it'd be easier to replace the whole thing.

Re: 67 truck door bottom replacement

Check this out on ebay. Less than $22.00 shipped. I got a passenger side rocker panel from them for $18 shipped and am very happy with the quality. He has all kinds of repair panels for these trucks including door skins.

Re: 67 truck door bottom replacement

For my crew cabs 4th door, I used 2 rocker panels to recreate the bottom of the door. Much thicker metal than the patch panel for the area. Trevor
