I for one, think it would look a lot better in person, than the photoshop renderings.
The flip side, is most people into a specific classic vehicle, like them for the memories and era they evoke. Original colors are part of that. I can't help thinking most of us would hate ochre, or the original greens on these trucks, if we didn't have positive memories of the era they were a part of.
Bottom line is if it looks cool to you, it is cool, unless you're trying to sell or show it.
you make great points. (and how funny, my blazers original color is ochre!) so the original color is out. I have kids telling me orange and a wife that hates that idea because it reminds her of the dukes of hazard.... haha like you said colors often evoke memories.

Re: What do you think about this color

The color asked about is essentially battleship gray, it's an intentionally unexciting color chosen for Navy ships to make them not standout against, well, anything. It's kind of the definition of an unexciting color. I don't think one of these old trucks has the persona to carry a stealthy color like that, it's not the character of the truck. This for me has a lot more to do with it than whether it's a period correct color or not. I've seen these trucks look good in stereotype '50s colors as well as more modern colors, this color to me just looks more like Nantucket house paint than an exciting vehicle color. I also think it's a color that against chrome makes both the chrome and the color look worse.

Re: What do you think about this color

I've been searching for a good orange/white pic so thanks for posting it. I'd definitely go with orange over anvil. I'm also a jeeper but I'd go with the classic colors on the blazer, or maybe an inferno orange and white platinum to kick it up a notch.
