Testing Frame Paint With A Hammer
I have read on this forum so many things like, "you can't even remove Por15 with a hammer", "powder coat is way stronger than paint", and the list goes on.
I wanted to put my own frame paint, MasterSeries Silver & Topcoat, to the test. To see if it could really take such a blow. Because if it can handle a hammer, show as hell should handle a rock popping up while driving. So I took my hammer and gave the frame three solid whacks to see if any chipping, cracking, or obvious damage would happen. To be truthful, I was pretty nervous thinking it would do damage but wanted the reassurance the product would withstand a direct hit. Here's the video (I apologize for filming vertically): Hammer Video After these three blows the paint didnt chip, didnt scuff (but did dull the paint), and didnt crack. Was this necessary? No, but now I know haha.

Re: Testing Frame Paint With A Hammer
I appreciate that you tested it with a good amount of force but not overkill. Too many people try to disprove companies' paint strength claims with ridiculous amounts of force. Truth be told if you want it to come off, it's coming off. Nice frame!

Re: Testing Frame Paint With A Hammer
I have used POR15 on a number of projects. After 2 years it actually falls off. I personally will not spend time or money on other projects unless its blasted epoxy primed and painted
Is this paint a single stage product ?.
