Does this happen to anyone else?
While in the process of putting together my 66 with full Porterbuilt I seem to be very easily side tracked. I bought a running and driving (yet kinda rough and rusty)
65 to drive and now I tear it apart to repair or replace floors ,rockers, fenders, doors and swap bed to fleetside. And some lowered springs. I cant just leave it alone.. Anybody else suffer from this same problem??? |

Re: Does this happen to anyone else?
I have been suffering from similar symptoms. I keep searching CL for C10 stuff and every once in a while I see a running 60-66 truck that I'd like to own and drive NOW. I've been working on mine for more than 3 years and have never driven it (less than a 1/4 mile after I replaced the brakes but the engine was no good). I keep seeing trucks that have rediculously high prices but every now and then I see an affordable one that I could drive RIGHT NOW! Looks like we have the same disease.

I also cruise CL to see what other folks are doing to their 60-66 trucks. Some are nice. Some, not so much! LOL!

Re: Does this happen to anyone else?
Yup. Started by pulling motor and bed for a basic Porterbuilt bag setup and motor swap. Now it starting to snowball into a full frame off with full dropmember setup. Funny thing is I bought this truck because it was "drive able" because my project truck needed too much.
Now I may have to sell her on needing a truck to drive while I build this one.

Re: Does this happen to anyone else?
My 65 started out as fix the brakes and drive it. That was 3 years ago. Right now it's just a cab and chassis, the rest is in a 1000 pieces. So I bought the 66 to drive while working on the 65. I do drive it to work every day but something gets upgraded every week. The 65 my take a little longer than expected.

Re: Does this happen to anyone else?
What's that bug called? I had a great running truck, I started out this fall to put new seals in the doors...
Now the engine/trans is on the floor for paint/reseal the HO rear has been swapped for a 12 bolt the old 62 front end is out, an 80's front suspension w/ disc brakes is being reworked to go under it. I have have found myself looking on CL looking for something else to drive cause I'm not sure I will have it done when spring gets here. BTW still have not bought the seal for the doors/windows... |

HAHA I was actually thinking this same thing yesterday. It becomes like Pandora's box, the more you do to it, the more you do to it.

Re: Does this happen to anyone else?
OK so here goes(as I stand up front)
My name is Jamie and I admit I have an addiction I want to stop but I cant I bought a 62 then sold it and bought a 66 when the cab and bed came off is when I lost all self control. Started ordering Porterbuilt parts then bought a 64 then a 65 bigwindow then a 66 then a 64 then another 65 then a 66 GMC and now the 65 stepside in the pics above.Along with lots and lots of misc parts. As the 66 bigwindow with all porterbuilt sits waiting.. |
