Chep door rubber?

I am a cheapskate---I admit it---i am looking for my 1972 cheyenne --cheaper door seals/gaskets/channels ect.Ebay and JcWhitney show complete kits for about $50 but then I find they are only a couple of the several pieces or for 1 door only-----any suggestions for donor vehicles? or Universal pieces that will work?

Re: Chep door rubber?

If there is a junk yard around, the push on seals for the first generation Dodge Dakota work well.

Re: Chep door rubber?

Junkyard. 87-97 Dodge Dakota Seals. People have been singing their praises for some time now... a lot of venders even sell "new ones" as a kit for these trucks:

I tried the first gen square body 82-93 S10 ones but even using used ones, my doors closed much harder than they did with the old factory seals.

Re: Chep door rubber?

If you're looking for the door gaskets, a good alternative is the 87-97 Dodge Dakota. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=626443

If you're talking about window channels and felt, you're best bet is to check the Vendor Marketplace on this forum. There are several good vendors there that can help you.

Re: Chep door rubber?

I just put some from lmc in my truck yesterday and the doors worked perfect before and will not close after. Not sure if its something i did or if they are on the think/hard side. Something to consider when looking as well.

I'm headed out to work on the Panel so I don't have time to look anything up for you but if you type the words "door seal" into the GOOGLE search box at the top of this page, click on the circle in front of "67-72chevytrucks.com and click on the GOOGLE button you will find lots of threads on the subject. Just make sure the thread you are looking at refers to your style of truck. (Hits will include all years)

Re: Chep door rubber?

$10 dodge Dakota seals from a junkyard. Fit perfectly for me, nice and snug seal, don't have to slam doors just a firm push.
