1972 gmc c5500
Hello! I am looking for any information about where to locate parts for this truck. I just bought it last week. Other than a few age appropriate issues, the truck works very well! It has some brake issues that I believe are being caused by a faulty master cylinder.
Also, if anyone knows how to decode the VIN, I would love to know how! TCE53WV500742 If anyone has any suggestions about how to properly maintain this beast please let me know! |

For brake parts numbers check here http://www.raybestosbrakes.com/magno...=Medium%20Duty
Then go to your local NAPA or Rockauto. You might be surprised.

Re: 1972 gmc c5500
As posted over at the other board:
I did a little research and I can only partially Decode your VIN. As you may know GMC's are not easy to Decode like Chevys are. It looks like: T = GMC C = Conventional Cab E = V-8 Engine 5 may mean 2-Ton 3 = Cab and Chassis (No Bed) W ? V = Plant (Pontiac, MI) ? 500742 = Serial Number starting with 500001 Double check the "W" as it looks like the next Number should be a "2" for 1972 Maybe someone out there can also add some more to my info. Bill
