new 4 post lift in the man cave.

I know everybody likes pictures so here goes. Finally pulled the trigger on a lift for my garage. It sure is nice to work on stuff off the ground.

Re: new 4 post lift in the man cave.

It is a 9000lb Lift king. It is not a commercial lift but works great for what I need it for. I just play on a few vehicles here and there.

Been dreaming about a lift, getting too old for creepers, what is your ceiling height?

Re: new 4 post lift in the man cave.

My shop has 10' wall with scissor trusses so the middle of the garage is 14' tall. I also made my garage door angle up so it would clear if I had a vehicle on the hoist and wanted to open the door. When I built the garage I had a lift in mind. I was going to put a two post in but decided to go this route. I'm also tired of laying on the ground to do stuff so this makes life a lot easier. The lift has castor wheels as well so it can be moved real easy if you want.

So the bottom of the "Firestone wall" in the 1st pic is 10'?

Re: new 4 post lift in the man cave.

Here is a better shot of the half wall. I put that in so I would be able to hang a tarp when I do body work.

Re: new 4 post lift in the man cave.

Princess Auto also carriers a lift similar to that. I believe it is a Danmar brand lift.

Re: new 4 post lift in the man cave.

That middle pic clarifies things a ton. The first couple made it look like the lift was sort of in the center of a 2 car garage, but I see its in its own "lane" so to speak.

Do you still have clearance to open the doors fully when you have 3-wide in there?

Haha you sound like a friend of mine. Random texts throughout the year telling me how long to Portland. It takes us 17 hours non stop other than fuel food and rest room breaks to get there ,but well worth the drive.

Yeah I have enough room to open the doors all the way with room to spare.
