Not to sound like jerk, but you get what you pay for or what you put into a project. If it is truly temporary then the flimsy ones may be your least expensive option. At least you could sell it for something when finished with it.

Northern tool 150.00
This would be VERY temp, but might do what you want it to do.
Might make a great temp paint booth as well.

Re: Temp. car shelter ideas needed

I had one of those $200 tents for my 69 Camaro. First time it failed in the wind, it caused me a dented fender. Second time it cost me $10k worth of damage.

Never using one again. I also had it anchored down in 6 places, using 12" long auger type anchors and had cinder blocks laying on the extra material, so that wind couldn't get underneath it

^? Taking $10k of hummel figurines into a tornado sounds like the beginning of a great insurance scam story.

Re: Temp. car shelter ideas needed

After storing a project car outside for years in one of these tents, here's my advice. If it's a nice finished car, pony up for indoor storage. These tents are flimsy and prone to failure anytime. The wind takes a toll on them the most, you can secure the frame as much as you want, but the cover still gets loose and rubs on the frame until it tears. The good tents with the gray covers, well the covers only last a couple years at most. Snowload is another issue unless you pay even more for a domed top one.

So I'd tarp it up if it's a crappy paint project car, or pay for indoor storage if it's a nice car. The whole thing is kinda useless if this happens to you.
