width of rear tires

Hello to everyone, this is for my 72 Chevy C10 Fleetside. Will a set of 275/60/15 fit under my bed w/ the stock rear end and without widening the wheel housings? I'd like to install them on 15x8 rims as long as they don't stick out of the wheel wells. Thanks to all.

Re: width of rear tires

I'm running that very size on my '68 without any issues - and they fit all inside nicely

Re: width of rear tires

Im running the same thing on mine, no problem. I'm gonna keep the same size tire and put a 15x10 wheel on it. I still will have the clearance for it.

Re: width of rear tires

Really? I was thinking of of running 15x10 rims on the back but I thought it would be to much and have to widen the rear wheel housings. I'm wondering if they would stick out from the wheel wells?

I love your truck. Reminds me a lot of mine, very similar color. I would like to paint my roof white as well so this gives me a good idea of how it would look.

Re: width of rear tires

what backspacing are the 15x10's. I'm going that route. Mine are 4" backspace. I still have to do the math.I was going to go 33x12.5x15. The wheel wells will take the size if the rim is spaced correctly.

Re: width of rear tires

I was told the 10" should work fine on my truck... I like the 8" and the side walls aren't too bulbous....
