Help with Antenna Mount

The antenna hole for my 1969 C10 is in the cowl of my truck. Ive bought a few antennas that when mounted, are off to an angle. Theyre for fender mounts it looks like. Either way, they definitely dont fit.
My solution was to get one that could be adjusted, and it works, but its really ****ty quality. It has plastic pieces that I can tell will be an issue with time, and it fits a little loose.

Does anyone have another solution? I sort of wish I had filled the antenna spot and gone antenna-free when doing my resto but too late now.

If you still have the SPID on the glove box door look to see if a radio is listed as an option. If not, it's likely that a P.O. cut the hole and installed an aftermarket antenna. The original holes had a notch added near the low-point to aid in proper clocking of the antenna. A picture of the hole in your cowl would help.

Yes my antenna hole has the notch for correct timing placement. I have tried the antenna similar to you picture however, when this is mounted the antenna points 15 - 20 degrees towards the center of the truck. It isnt an original cowl so im guessing the PO drilled the hole incorrectly. It is more in the flat area of the cowl (towards the hood / fender). Would an antenna for another model work?

I guess it's always possible something else would work, but who knows what.

Possibly. I've never used one, but they appear to be adjustable in all directions if I recall correctly.
