Was there something specifically you wanted to know?

1972 Cheyenne/10 LWB Fleetside
Built in Flint,MI
Deluxe Two-Tone of med bronze and white
Black Cheyenne trim
350/TH350
Air Conditioned.

RPO PU8 (an optional tire selection) was for five white stripe G78-15-B Highway BB tires .
G78 is the tire width and section height (about a 215/75R15)
15 is the wheel size
B is the load rating
Highway means a highway tread vs an on /off road tread.
BB means a bias-ply belted tire

Which one?

In the VIN.
The first "C" denotes Chevrolet. "T" would be a GMC.

In the model number (and the second letter of the VIN),
"C" is 4x2 chassis and "K" is 4x4 chassis.

vin. all my trucks have had CE... C being 2wd, E being v-8, etc... i haven't seen one starting with CCE...

I see this SPID already has the dummy character "1" filling in front of the RPO code, but still has some additional function name info following the code.

Tim - was the RPO code always associated with 5 tires?

During the squarebody era the codes were separated for front/rear/spare to allow for different tires front and rear.

XFL - Front
YFL - Rear
ZFL- Spare (or no spare)

Did '67-'72 ever have anything like that?

thanks for the help. i was kinda just wanting to see what all has been changed or modified on my truck. i was told it could possibly be a "fake" cheyenne....but with the spid saying cheyenne package, i doubted what i was told. i was also told it didnt have cheyenne door panels?? i didnt know there were different panels....ill post some pics later to see what yall think.

It's a Cheyenne, but maybe someone switched door panels. A '72 Custom would have plain door panels. Custom Deluxe, Cheyenne, & Cheyenne Super all had the same fancy door panel. It has stainless trim surrounding a scroll pattern. That only shows on the Custom Deluxe while the Cheyenne & Cheyenne Super have woodgrain panels that cover that up. That panel can be removed to expose the scroll. I took mine out to match the seat (Sierra = Cheyenne) and people comment on it being wrong for a Sierra

Want to say PU8 goes back to 70. It was the white stripe only upgrade of the base tires (thus five).
Here is a clip for 72 CK10 pickups (tubeless) as an example.

There were indeed code breakouts specifiying front, rear or spare. More typically on the 10 series they offered a pair and a spare. So say you wanted the on/off road tires on the rear you could order it with three on/off road or three highway with a code for the remaining two tires (5, 3/2 or 2/3 breakouts). If they were used, the suffix codes would have reflected the pair or triple. On 20-30 series a seperate RPO code callout was used for a spare or wheel like the squarebody (2/2/1 breakout). Unfortunately optional tires were not always reflected on the SPID.

That picture would be the configuration a custom Deluxe would come with......but some one could have taken the woodgrain panel out at some point. That particular door panel looke like it may have been green at one time and dyed, so may not be original to the truck.

Does the truck have a headliner with plastic chrome trim? If so, it's a Cheyenne.

Truck looks good to me, go for it.

Did you read my post. It tells you what to go on. The trimmed peddles and original carpet are also tell tales of Cheyenne or Cheyenne Super. Another is a center seat belt.
