tall valve covers on smc in 61 dont fit
whats everyone doing for their tall valve covers in there trucks?,..passenger side fits but it almost rubs the firewall...im thinking ill just have to buy another set of covers that arnt so tall,...I don't really want to beat my firewall in

I think the Edelbrock valve covers are about the tallest valve cover made for the SBC. If they aren't touching or rubbing, you wouldn't have to change them. Just how close is the passenger side? You could probably massage the firewall slightly to gain a little extra clearance, and not many people would know.

I have the shorter version of the Edelbrock with no problems.
Is your alternator bracket long enough ? |

I havnt even tried the pass. side yet as it looks to be tighter near the firewall than the drivers side...drivers side is maybe 1/8th front the firewall.....alt bracket looks like it would clear just fine
