Soft Top Window Restoration

so I've had my soft topper top for about 2.5 years now and I've probably left it uncovered longer than I'd like. currently my clear vinyl windows have started to dry out and become opaque. I was curious what products that everyone has used before. What works well and what doesn't.
So far I've seen the Diamondite kit
http://www.autogeek.net/diamondite-clear-vinyl-kit.html

And The Novus Plastic Polish Kit.

These kits don't mention using a buffing wheel at all. I would think using a wheel with the recommended polish would help.

Let me know your experiences please

Re: Soft Top Window Restoration

Those in the topper I have are yellowed and cracked. A local upholsterer believes he can stitch in new windows (originals are heat sealed in place) but fitment under his sewing machine may be tough - hopefully it works. You may have luck having new windows stitched into place.

Re: Soft Top Window Restoration

On one of my previous blazers I tried to use a clear plastic window cleaner and polish. It really didn't do anything. I'm not sure there is a solution that will give you truly good results.

Re: Soft Top Window Restoration

I own a boat that gives me the same grief and my Blazer has a new Softopper but fully expect the same conditions of my boat to happen on the Blazer . I've tried the chemical route with zero results. So while I've been waiting for better solutions to surface I purchased an industrial sewing machine after of coarse I just paid someone else to do my top on the boat.
But what I am looking for is the scroll patterns from old rangy seats so I can practice sewing and maybe make some rear panels by simply sewing the pattern into the panel . If anyone should be able to help me please pm me Thanks
