I've been looking for a hidden hitch that works for rollpans for our trucks and have came up with "Not for use with rollpans"

Any idea why or anyone know someone that has one for a rollpan?

www.hiddenhitch.com has a hitch that they say fits 8-ft beds. The difference at the rear of the chassis doesn't exist, does it, compared with the short wheel base. So, there shouldn't be any issues with a hitch working for LWB or SWB. www.sirmichaels.com has roll pans. One has the license panel in your choice of three locations...left, center, or right. The other style has no license panel. The center license location would have to be your choice, right? Sir Michaels also sells hidden hitches. Looks like they would be your best shot at both items and I've spoken with them about other parts and they are helpful.

Even better might be to call ECE, www.earlyclassic.com. They sell hidden hitches that fit behind the stock bumper, and they have a license plate mount that swings down. I know you want to use the hitch with a roll pan, and they are great to answer your questions (they helped me). Their hitch doesn't specify the length of bed and these guys are specialists in the '67-72 Chevy/GMC field. If nothing else, email them and see what they say.

Okay, I called Mark @ ECE this morning and he says their hidden hitch will NOT work with a roll pan because it will stick out too far to the rear.

Sir Michael's doesn't list a hitch for '67-'72, just '73-'87.....

I had a local shop make a hitch that fit in my frame rails, instead of under them. This put it in a perfect spot to come through my roll pan.

That sounds like the route I might end up going.

Do you remember how much that cost you est? I just want to get an idea on what to expect.

I think it was around $180. I think I could get it done for cheaper today. Back then I was in college and made of money, so I took it to the best shop and didn't ask for an estimate. Just told them to do it and I would pick it up at the end of the day. I was so stupid.

If you want one for a roll pan, I think you are going to have to have one made. It needs to go between the frame rails.
If you have a sport bumper you can buy one that will sit behind the license plate.
