Kentucky board members ?
I would like to hear from board members who live Kentucky, especially Central Kentucky (where I live). I presently know of two (72chevynut and Soulbilly) besides myself and I'm sure there are several more.
If we identify some more truck owners, maybe we could meet for coffee and talk trucks and parts. Or plan to meet at a car show this summer. Please post or send me a PM. Larry Hoover, Lexington Ky Response from 9 so far : Souilbilly, 72chevynut, Adam Moyers, 67gmcss2, chiefcfd, 68nou1, KY_gmc, Coursey, Raggedjim .

Re: Kentucky board members ?
Check the "Meets and Greets" or "Regions" forum. There are usually gatherings of BB members from all over at various places already listed. There may not be a current one but the old ones will list who's attended one in your area before.

Re: Kentucky board members ?
Hey Treetop839 not far from you at all. I guess there are more Western Ky neighbors than we know. My truck is in a paint shop in Hoptown. Was supposed to be done last week but I can't pick it up anyway. Too much snow and ice.

Re: Kentucky board members ?
Russellville, KY. Been on the site for several years now, but haven't had a truck since I moved out here from Oregon in Nov 2013. Looking at buying my old Cheyenne Super back from the father in law this spring though (if I can justify the cost and shipping charges that is).

Re: Kentucky board members ?
Question for you fellow Kentucky folks... Is anyone using classic vehicle registrations? Like most places I know they are intended for parades, shows, etc, but most states aren't very particular about them actually being used as drivers.
Also, if you HAVE a classic registration, is anyone displaying a year of manufacture plate instead? Unfortunately it doesn't look like we can actually register a plate from 1972 (or whatever year your truck is), but you can actually DISPLAY it if you keep the classic auto plate and registration in the truck at all times. Seems like this would be a problem if a cop actually tried to run your plate, but here's what I found on the rules regarding this in Kentucky: YEAR OF MANUFACTURE LICENSE PLATE USE - Registration not offered, but display permitted: VEHICLE QUALIFYING AGE: 25 years old or older VEHICLE TYPES QUALIFYING FOR YOM: all motor vehicles twenty-five (25) years old or older, which are used primarily for exhibition in shows, parades, tours, and other special uses, but not for general transportation. (includes motorcycles) MUST TYPES MATCH: SINGLE/PAIR REQUIRED: Single REPAINTED PLATES ALLOWED: MUST NUMBER CLEAR: NOTES: "Historic vehicles may display an authentic Kentucky license plate, twenty-five (25) years or older, or a reproduction of such a plate, if the historic motor vehicle plate and the registration receipt are kept in the vehicle at all times." A copy of the law may be downloaded in PDF format from Kentucky's site at http://www.lrc.ky.gov/krs/186%2D00/043.pdf

Re: Kentucky board members ?
All of the classics around here are registered historic. Have not had any issues.
I know you can display a vintage tag, but you must keep original tag in the truck at all times just in case.

Re: Kentucky board members ?
I agree, Casey does nice work. I like some of his touches like choice of outside mirrors, not correct for 71 but looks super, air cleaner, etc. VERY Cool.

Re: Kentucky board members ?
Thanks guys. We have several old cars that we run the correct year tag on them and keep the original antique tag under the seat. Never an issue here in town. I have never been questioned on my mileage either. I know I have seen several cars with these tags that seem to be ran as every day drivers. Yeah, I always liked the 67/68 mirrors better then the 71 72 type. I also went with 67 door panels. Looked simplier. You guys make sure you plan to come to Elizabethtown on July 25th for Cruisin the Heartland. They shut all of downtown off and usually we have had up to a couple of thousand cars / trucks here. It's free entry.
