your suggestions are welcome
as many of you might have read in a earlier post about nut size on the ubolts on the rear axle, I am trying to install a ece super track bar. worked on it this afternoon and got the nuts off on the passenger side. my problem is I can not get the trailing arm and axle separated . I have sprayed 1/2 a can of krol on it and tried using a wedge tapping on it with a sledge hammer and it hasn't moved . it looks like the narrow passage where the u goes thru the trailing has years of red dirt packed in it. any suggestions are welcome cause i'm sure that someone here has had the same problem, that is one of the things that is great about this site, past practices!!

Kroil works good on lubricating things not of freeing them. Use pb blaster it works way better. I use kroil everyday as a lubricant for air tools and cleaning gasket surfaces. Might just need a BFH

And make sure the bolt holding the spring is loose it it won't budge

What I had to do was soak the unbolts with penetrant for a couple of days. Loosen the nuts, place a jack stand under the axle tube and put the big hammer on the rear of the trailing arm and unbolt. It finally gave up.

I did not unbolt the spring, do I before it will separate,

It sounds like the u-bolt is rusted to the trailing arm. That is was happened to mine, I decided to cut them since I was replacing the u-bolts anyway.

Unbolting the spring is not necessary. The ubolts are rusted down in the trailing arm. Once you have sprayed penetrant on the bolts from the top side of the arm they will eventually loosen. Tapping the ubolts side to side will help loosen them. Hitting the rear of the trailing arm downward will help as well. With the jack stands under the axle tube the weight of the truck is on the trailing arm and with the ubolt nuts only loosened as a safety that weight helps to separate the ubolts and arm. Safety first.
Even if you were to cut the ubolts by torch or grinding, etc you still have to get those out of the trailing arm which would involve removing the rear end to get to them most likely. I don't know what your intention is but in my case I wanted to swap complete rearends. I was able to loosen the ubolts, clean and save them to reuse.
