Re: Project: ____________________________

I have a couple spare frames as well.......so current plan is to bring one of them home, get the 52/63 swap completed, get the rear shackle flip installed, diffs in, perches in the rear to be welded in when all together and weight is on them, get the cummins and driveline installed, frame shortened........then decide what will happen with the body from there.

There is the option of combining my CCSB projects and maybe the possability of putting my 2wd cab on that chassis and keeping the blue one for my trail rig. Can only keep so many...so...will see what happens. This way I'm not tearing down a perfectly good truck and wasting a bunch of build time and redundant efforts.

Nothing much to report unfortunately. Still collecting parts...and selling what I don't need. Traded the box to a buddy for some parts.

Re: Project: ____________________________

Making some additional progress on the parts collection....no real work done yet. Still have some more stuff to order up/make before even thinking about starting. Going to look at a possible cab candidate and might build from scratch now and keep my blue crew as a trail rig...just toss on the swampers, small lift, and go for now.

Parts include: on board air compressor (direct bolt on), 1" body lift, NV4500 GM/Dodge hybrid with 205 adapter (still have to locate a 6 bolt round pattern 205 GM case), poly body mount kit, 31 gallon fuel tank, sender, straps, KILLER deal on actual cummins complete gasket set ($170US/set), and some odds n ends.

Also looking at using a guy I found on one of the forums for my crossmember, and frame boxing pieces. Can't barely make them for what he is charging. Also going to be working with him I hope in the near future on designing some rear crew/1ton frame boxing plates for the rear. Come fabricated with dimple die holes n all. Crazy clean work too....will keep you posted as things progress and confirmation is had that things are a go.

Anyway, on with the show.

Re: Project: ____________________________

Ya....been a while collecting lol

Only have a few things left to collect, one being a 6 bolt round pattern NP205 with a fixed rear yoke and 32 splines. But think I found a couple this week, just waiting to hear back. They were only made from 85 to 91 behind the 465 and T400 transmissions and 91 was a VSS version. So not easy to find in most cases.

In 1991 the NP205 with VSS came behind a 4L80E, that is another thing that makes the NP205 and the adapter highly desirable. I just sold my 1991 crew with that setup. Now I need to find another for a 6.0/4L80E swap into a 4x4 CCSB
I have around pattern, non-VSS NP205 that I HOPE I can convert to VSS, then I'll only need the adapter. Do you know if the TH400 to round pattern NP205 is the same?
Edit: I just found out the TH400 adapter is different but Northwest Fab sells an adapter to make it work with the 4L80E. They also sell a VSS conversion kit for the NP205

Sorry Joe....just seen this now. lol. Bit late I guess.....You already know hhahaa.

I am buying another dually 4x4 crew cab (chassis only) and it has the case I need, going to part out the rest or maybe even commandeer the frame for my cummins build and save some time.

On another note I got a smoking deal on a set of 2005 RAM leather crew cab seats that I am going to put in. Looks like it will be a super easy conversion and will be nice to have a flip up rear seat too. They are even grey, so worst case scenario I will buy a set of KatSkins later on and delete the ram logo....think I am going to get a skull with horns made in place of it...just cause. lmao.

Will post up some pics later on when I get them cleaned up. They are filthy right now.

You've got a lot of good pieces to build a sweet rig. Very nice! That gasket set was a steal at $170 too.

yes, absolutely. Reason I bought 2...hahaaha. Figured it was a no brainer. Up here the head gasket alone is well over $200 my cost.

Re: Project: ____________________________

What kind of hassle did the border give you bringing those panels up? I doubt theres not much they can do cause its not a cab with a vin number.

They make you pay duties or anything?

I visit Nevada/Arizona quite a bit because the old man lives there. Ive been debating buying a few trucks and just dismantling them and bringing them home to sell. Little easier then whole trucks I think

Re: Project: ____________________________

Been on a roll this week getting stuff done. Managed to get the frame shortened, 64" leaf swap done, shackle flip installed, Blazer 40 gal tank along with brackets, 2003 14FF with factory disc brakes, built some adjustable perches as well, along with new greaseable poly bushings, upper spring plates, new U bolts, and some odds n ends.

Next is to build a reciever hitch, shock brackets, and then get the rear portion of the frame blasted then paint/install everything.

Front hangers were placed 4-5/8" center to center from rear cab mount rivet to first upper bolt hole in front hanger. This left the center line of the differential in stock location and allowed room to bolt hanger in place without major issues. Then mounted rear shackle flip bracket 63-1/16 center to center fixed hanger locations. This left a 10 degree rearward angle under load on the rear shackle giving the best ride possible ride and allowing the springs to do the work, not the shocks. Shocks will be mounted as far apart as possible and mounted at a 20 degree angle.

Re: Project: ____________________________

Got some mock up pieces completed, and pics taken. Fabricated some load leveller bag brackets and frame reinforcement plates, receiver hitch, shackle flip, 2005 rear disc 14ff, 63" springs, blazer tank..etc. I tied in the frame plates to the hitch front mounts as they were right there anyway, and what can it hurt. Still have to make the shock mount in front of the axle and tie it into the outer plates as well.
