Re: 69-72 roll bar

The family bar is the one that came in my truck. Just wondering how popular they were? Any way I cut the back section off as clean as possible so it can be re-installed if needed. Was going to make it a quick install section for boat rack but now building an actual rack that installs on top of the softopper with flip up canvas for sleeping in

Not sure on the number sold but I have seen them around. I can tell you about 50% of the people asking for the main roll bar kit want the family bar too. Sure you could cut it and install inserts with quick release pins at the 4 connections. Could you share a picture of the family bar in your blazer?

Re: 69-72 roll bar

Any thoughts on bending up a front section that protects the driver and passenger, too? It obviously wouldn't be a Hickey design, but there are no real cage kits for our early Blazers.

I do believe. I emailed him last week. A friend used him for his Bronco and liked it.

Re: 69-72 roll bar

Smittybuilt and s and w roll cage used To Build The front half cage as well. The angles are Hard To Get with the way the early Blazers Are Setup. Have to bend for to be able to open The glove box and also Be able to Use window cranks. So Many places are in and out Of Business these days not Sure Who still Does it.

Yes the family bar will fit under the factory hard top and besttop brand soft top.

As soon as we have a prototype installed I'll post pictures for sure.

Re: 69-72 roll bar

Is that pic of what you are building? Looks good if it is. Would be a nice addition to any blazer or jimmy. I'll Keep you in kind now that I found a rollbar. I'll want to add the rear part at some point.
