1966 steering column
I have a quick question about my 66 auto column. I installed the steering wheel and tightened it up and it rubs the piece behind it. When I turn the wheel back and forth the shifter and moves with the wheel like something is loose. Does this make sense? Can I tighten something or is this just the norm?

Re: 1966 steering column
The column has some attaching screws under the dash to adjust the tube back and forth, maybe this would help.

Re: 1966 steering column
I think ideally you would take it all apart and reassemble it, which is not that big a job. You might find some worn out parts. There are some adjustments that can be made with the slotted retainer, clamp and spring at the bottom of the column.
