Edelbrock Streetmaster intake

After some engine cleaning I have noticed that there is an aftermarket manifold on my 396 BB truck. There is an aluminium Edelbrock Streetmaster intake (like the one on the pic below) instead of the nice heavy cast iron one..

Now to my question, should I let it be there? or should I try to find an original stock one?
The rest of the engine is all stock!

Thanks for comments...

Re: Edelbrock Streetmaster intake

Leave it there, Nothing wrong with an aluminum Edelbrock. Unless you want period correct complete restoration. It will be fine.

To me that looks to be a "single plane" manifold which is good mostly for all out max horsepower, not where our trucks live which where good torque is king.
A good "dual plane" manifold will serve you better. Something like a performer will get your truck moving on the low end.

I am also into dual plane... and I have a -73 CBB original manifold on the shelf, it might be worth a gasket set to install that!
