I realy hate to be critical of the truck, but if you are spending that kind of money fixing one up... Why not set the engine where it belongs? A couple trips to the wrecking yard and you are set.. At least then you can use preformed radiator hoses and not the cheesey universal ones that are used on the truck. A process that at max would cost about $400.00 during the restoration, now to do it you are looking at probably $1000.00 or more.... Possibly lots of damage to the new work getting it there also...
"I have to say that this is one of the nicest trucks of it's kind that I have come across. The paint glistens, the interior is sharp and tasteful, and the WHITE-OAK bedboards are TO DIE FOR! They were fresh cut in the mountains of North Carolina specifically for this truck." I mean come on!! You are going to go out into the "wilds" of North Carolina to cut that special tree to retrieve your bed wood, go through the entire milling process, cure the wood, and then machine it.... and you don't want to hit the wrecking yards to retreive the parts it would take to set the motor in the right spot!! I can understand someone building a budget truck doing that. Wanting more power for less money, but a truck that you have gone to the ends of the earth to restore.... Sheeeeeessss!! Oh well,,,, It looks pretty..... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com P.S..... Ignore this post.... I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed...LOL

Wes...why would it cost more now to put the motor in the V-8 position???? I'm confused. Actually I agree with Wes to some point. Everything under the hood is really sloppy compared to how nice the rest of the truck is. Those hoses suck...and you can get premolded hoses that fit when the motor is in the l-6 position. The plug wires are mismatched, the air cleaner stud needs to be cut off, the fan is not in the shroud and the wiring is a mess. Why would someone spend that much time on a truck and leave the underhood area looking like a one weekend thrash. Still a nice truck

I guess if you don't have to pay for labor the costs wouldn't go up, unless you dammage the truck removing and replacing the engine. Also doing everything else it takes to move the engine forward. Did you see that the wires under the dash were painted also? The spark plug wires were wire tied to the valve cover bolts. The under side of the truck does not look like it went through a frame off restoration either. The bolts on the ebrake adjuster haven't even had a wrench on them. The inner fenders look to have the origanal paint... I could go on and on about it...LOL If they cut all of those corners, what did they do painting it? I saw some pretty good rust pitting near the vin plate also. Someone spent a little time putting an Earl Shieb paint job on it and are calling it a trophy winning show truck. This is just my opinion, whitch I have been known to voice one and a while...LOL Maybe I should go take a nap now. LOL WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

While I really dig good looking step side trucks, and this is a pretty cool truck, it is not being properly represented, adn not worth (IMO) the price it is at now...which has not met the reserve price yet.
