Smile 1969 C10 Front Drum Hubs

Hi,

OK, I know it's been a while (long story that no one wants to hear) but I am making headway.

I have to replace a front drum so I am doing both, along with the bearings. (can't afford a disc swap right now) The drums they sold me don't have the hub assembly. That is where I am stumped. It looks to me like I have to grind a few rivets off to get the assembly off the old drum.

My questions are...
  1. Do I have to replace the rivets or will the wheel studs be enough?
  2. If they have to be replaced, what do I search for on brothers, or lmc, or wherever?
  3. Also... is there a guide online? I searched and didn't find anything.

I do appreciate all the help this wonderful place has given me. I am actively working on my build.

Grind off the rivits and knock them out. No you don't have to replace them, the wheel lug nuts hold them on. Just like the rear drums. Make sure you use the new bearing races that came with the new bearings. Keeping them in sets.

Thank you very much!

Disc brakes, I've done a few. Drum brakes, not so much.

Like kelsfine69 said drill and dont re rivet or bolt it back. Lug nuts will hold 'em on and the best part of it is now you don't need to remove the hub when checking on or replacing shoes.

Thank you.

That will definitely be a bonus. I am hoping to put on discs either later this year or early next.
