Door gaping

I have tried to set the door I have mostly the right gab around the outside but the bottom corner seems to be getting out from the rocker panel about a quarter of an inch to a half inch too much how do you get this to suck in better? It's the bottom next to the cab corner

Re: Door gaping

Looks like the striker plate needs to move in towards the cab.

Re: Door gaping

Striker plate will allow the door to close more inward to the cab. That should take care of your problem.

Re: Door gaping

Yay that worked the only gap left to fix is the bottom by the rocker is gaped more on the cab corner side than the firewall side seems the door is slightly tilting up. I think my bushing are gone in the hinges because there is a lot of play

Re: Door gaping

Are there any shims under the lower door hinge? If so, I would remove them. That might bring the bottom in. I don't normally see shims here, but you never know.

You may have to massage the bottom of the door skin a bit to get it just right if that's the last thing to adjust. especially if its a donar door off another truck.

Re: Door gaping

There should not be shims between the hinge and the body, as the in/out adjustment is performed via the slotted bolt holes mating the hinge to the door.
