Firewall pics needed-deluxe heater
Does anyone have pictures of your firewall with the deluxe heater removed? I took my heater and factory A/C out today to install a Vintage Air surefit, to my surprise I found a hole I didn't expect. I called VA to see if there was a delete cover that wasn't included in my shipment and the tech I spoke to said he had never heard of this so I sent him pictures. He was baffled and said he had to talk to the engineering group.

Here is the picture with the heater removed, I can only post 1 picture at a time on my tablet. The unexpected hole is the one between the cowl vent and th smaller square one where a heater delete plate would go.

Re: Firewall pics needed-deluxe heater
that is the hole that the dealer cuts to install the factory air conditioning unit.
all factory air cabs will have a cut hole there. here is my 65 sub with that same hole. when you talk to them again refer them to this thread, maybe they should tool up a plate for the factory air guys that choose to use their product....

Re: Firewall pics needed-deluxe heater
That is a factory AC hole, the heater box on early factory AC units was a combo for both heat and AC. There is a flap that shuts off the heater and send air to the AC through that hole.

Re: Firewall pics needed-deluxe heater
Thanks everyone, I'm sure I'll just fill it and move on but I hadn't planned on this taking that long. I had hoped it was remove and replace.
