In SoCal,my registration tags are $135.00 for a 1969 chevy 1/2 ton pick-up.The government considers it a commercial vehicle.

Me too!
on the 82 the tags are around $50 and the 96 is around $95. Mississippi tags are levied depending on the year/use of vehicle. You'd hate the wife's 02 Bonneville (almost $500). And I get a 30% price break becasue of casino revenue, other wise they would be more, except my 70. Good to be old and drive old!!

PA. registration goes by weight. Mine is about $154 for 9000lb gross. My wife pays the bills so + 0r - a dollar. Autos are $39 and a half ton would be anything from $39-100 depending on how it was registered or the gross weight rating.

In WI for collector vehicles it's like $190 for new plates and about $90 to transfer between vehicles, one time fee.

Utah... I can't remember, either $20 or $25 for the year. Prices go by how old the vehicle is, and the Chevy is as old as it gets on their little price chart. My Dad's '01 Dodge is a couple hundred bucks though

I paid $10 for my vintage tag and dont have to pay again as long as I own it. If I register it with regular plates its around $45-50 a year depending if they issue new plates that year. Its a 70 3/4 GMC.

NJ wants $69.50 for regular tags on my 71 Sub 1/2 ton, add another $20 to that if you want to have "collector registration"(allows a newer collector or modified vehicle such as my 91 GMC to be insured & driven with the same stipulations as the antique cars(2500 miles/year, must be garaged, used for show purposes only, no daily driver). I believe antique tags are $40 or $50 one time.

Oh, forgot to mention that New Jersey says my Sub is NOT a truck, it's a station wagon!

California says all trucks and vans are comericial. Even my little ford ranger!?!? I did find a loophole for Vans, load them up with benchseats, and when you go to register, argue about the comericial status, and show them the van with all the seats, and you should be able to get them to change it to a passerger vehicle. I am going to try this with my new 67 4x4 Suburban....

Unhappy Registration

Hi,
Here in NJ $72.00 for a 1982 registered at 5000 lbs. It was $105.00 until about 2 years ago when they dropped it to $65.00 and then raised it $7.00 this year. Plus we have about the worst inspection program in the country except for maybe California.

Another $25.00 lifetime Mississippi antique license plate here. Also, a $5.00 annual "inspection" sticker.
