My first barn find (it was half way in so round up)
i've been wanting to get a 67-72 sb for quite some time, problem has always been price. the other day i got a call from an uncle who had a cousin that passed and was a bit of a hoarder. He said he had some old cars and an chevy stepside and asked if i was interested, i said yup can i get some pics? I was crossing my fingers that it'd be a 67-72 and sure enough it was! the other cool thing is after he sent me the pics I came across this eBay posting and the truck is practically a it's twin brother, from idaho and all-
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-Chevrol...vip=true&rt=nc after reading the eBay ad i realized that it was prob a factory winch truck also, thanks to the ad i was able to make out the option tag and sure enough it was (although it's long gone now). so anyway it was a fun little adventure, it looks like the last time it was on the road was in 86! I have some work ahead of me now, i'll post pics later tonight or tomorrow. |

Get us pics as the ebay listing is no longer there.
I got a glimpse of a stepside with wheel on side and winch.....is that what you have from the barn? |

Wow. That truck has some cool options. Factory installed winch? I've never even heard of that.
High note horn? What's that?

Re: My first barn find (it was half way in so round up)
a few more pics of were it sat, you can see the lean too was getting pretty weak, the one next to it came down on the poor old s10 lol he pulled the carb and a few other things here and there. I've been going through the property and have found a lot of stuff for the truck such as the seat and transmission tunnel cover, and some other miscellaneous parts. I'm hoping to find the winch, but i feel like thats a long shot.

I have about the same truck, save that mine is a 2wd. I do hope you find a spare time mount and carry a spare WHERE IT BELONGS (on the side).
If I came across something like this, at a good price, I'd probably buy it too. |

Re: My first barn find (it was half way in so round up)
these are a few pics from the eBay listing i mentioned. I actually messaged the guy who had it and got some more info on the truck. The vin tag that's not easy to read is from the truck i picked up. it's easier to decipher it when you compare the two against each other. I honestly can't make everything out, and some of the things listed i don't know what they are,

The ebay truck is pretty neat too...whAt is the relation of the vin sequence number of the two? What are the odds that it would come up at the same time as yours...also, it looks to have 67 style arm rests. I wonder if it was early 68 (?)

Re: My first barn find (it was half way in so round up)
I was the one that listed the other truck on Ebay. It sold and is going to New York. Actually it was listed in the Trucks for sale section on this site. (still on there actually). Pretty cool these two showed up at the same time.
