WTB - Gas Tanks

Hello - I'm looking to purchase a couple of good used gas tanks for my project. Will be going into a 1986 frame.

Thanks much!

Re: WTB - Gas Tanks

Do you need them for a long or short bed? You may be ahead buying them from a place like LMC.

Might just check the local parts house. Our Oreilly's stocks the 86 tanks, both long and short. Sometimes even will match LMC/Rockauto's price to boot.

FYI... Long beds have/had longs and shorts. Shortbeds only shorts.

Re: WTB - Gas Tanks

Guess it is just something that I never thought of as I have always owned short bed trucks. Just have the one long bed parts truck

Re: WTB - Gas Tanks

It's also worth mentioning that I need 2 sets of gas tank brackets. I don't really like the LMC truck prices so I'm hoping to find some decent used units.

Re: WTB - Gas Tanks

I have a set brackets fresh off of an 84 GMC. Longbed truck, short gas tanks. I have 99% of the nuts and bolts. $100 for the pair (4 straps) delivered. Paypal preferred, PM for address.

Used gas tanks won't ship because of the gasoline vapors in them. You are stuck with new or you are going to have to pickup. Honestly its almost impossible to find a decent used tank anyways... I have 15 squares in the back yard and I always go buy new tanks if I need them.
