New truck

Well today I traded trucks with a great guy.,, Lockdoc. He and his wife drove down to my place. They did all the work. I really appreciate the people on the board and their families.
The truck I got today is very much like the truck my granddad owned. This truck is special to me in a way that the other trucks weren't.
Plus the truck is a very nice truck!
I didn't think about getting pictures until they were pulling out of my drive.

I would also like to thank big mike71. Thanks brother.

Great story. Good looking truck(s). Ready to start your own story on "your" new truck.
Really nice looking country in the background.

Re: New truck

Looks right at home already. Great trade! I always thought about that truck. It once had the Huntsman camper on it, same kind my old '71 had on it

Re: New truck

This is the first truck that I have own that I didn't even look at the vin on the door jamb, I didn't test drive it. I know Leon is one of those rare fellas that his word is gold. This is the first truck in this style that I now own that everything on it works. Dome light comes on when you open the doors. Ciggarette lighter works. Windshield washer works. Am radio works. I even named it Merle after my granddad. It's definitely a sweet truck.

Hey Big Mike, what coffee shop?

Hey Scott! Good seeing you and the Mrs. yesterday.

We worked out a deal that we were both happy with and I'm glad you like the truck. I had to mow the yard when I got home so I didn't have time to putz with the C-30 much but I took it to the car wash while it was still on the trailer and pressure washed the underside. Makes it a lot easier that way. I have an NV4500 that will be going in it in place of the 4 speed and that should make it an all around good driver. I'm a happy camper....

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I appreciate it.

There are quite a few close up pictures of the Red/White truck all through this thread, including interior shots and stuff.....

Re: New truck

Well I put the truck to work today. No carpet but fire wood for the stove in the shop. Early bird gets the worm.

Re: New truck

These good ole trucks will always be good ole trucks. Never too early to get ready for winter. Summer leisure turns to winter survival, as hard as that may seem now. Last week I took down two locust trees I've been eying for next winter. Last year once my wood use ended I had the wood shed filled within weeks. Just cooking away under that tin roof and dry as a bone. This year none. So, I'm with you. It's nice to rest easy knowing you're all set for next winter.

Now, back to the truck...the good ole truck

Re: New truck

Has the truck asked you "When are we going camping?" yet? You've given it a new life. Not such a bad life out on the farm having to carry a little here, a little there every now and then.
