Go Chevy Chic!!!!!!!!!
I hate to say it, but I own two cars, one chevy elky and one VW cabriolet and I love both equally. I've got an '86, which is 5 years older than your car? You can do a lot of fun things with A1 frame. And forget about hunting down a scirocco 16v engine. If you're going to do a swap you get a mid 90's 1.8L Jetta engine dual overhead cam and shove it in there with the right header mods. It will be tight fit but you've got so much more room to improve... And that price was a steal for that car. I've lived in San Dieog and Austin and cabriolet's are never cheap. Here are some interesting links... And if you have any questions about routine/common problems drop me a line... although I don't think the Chevy board likes all this import talk Kenneth mods http://vw.dpgoldman.com/handbook.html great site and some important hints on engine swaps, exhaust stuff and other tuning stuff https://www.techtonicstuning.com/indexs.html other VW tuning sites http://www.eiptuning.com/EIPINDEX.html http://www.neuspeed.com/home.asp?ltype=ns_euro a forum, I use a yahoo forum so I can't say much about this one http://www.techography.com/cabriolet/forums/ a 16v swap http://www.futrellautowerks.com/projects/16vcab.htm http://www.volkswagen.org/EngineSwap/ THE place for cabby tops http://www.topsonline.com/:p :p |

That's a very clean car for the money! Wish I had car that got 40+ MPG. But I drive 2 miles to work so my 12 MPG's will do.
Nice find, chevychic.
