Re: Fine Custom Touches On This One
I'm afraid not. I never talked to the guy. He was talking to a few other guys and I didn't want to wait around. It was one of the first vehicles I checked out. I wanted to get back by and it never happened. This is a helluva big show

Re: Fine Custom Touches On This One
Oops, I thought I mentioned that. This was last week in York, PA at the NSRA Nationals East. I think there are something like 3,000 entries at that show

Re: Fine Custom Touches On This One
just think of the time it took getting the filler door shaped right. let alone doing the flush window job.

Re: Fine Custom Touches On This One
Right! It's those little details that come out huge. I'm not even into body mods or modernizing these trucks, but I can still appreciate tasteful changes, if that's what an owner wants. I figure that could be a 68-72 bedside, then came the tough job of altering that gas door to fit. That flush mount rear window took some work. I just realized I'm not sure if the windshield was done or not. You would think, but I'm not sure I even looked. Like I said, I had planned to come back. I was with a buddy and there were a lot of cars and trucks to see. I imagine I'll see that truck again

Re: Fine Custom Touches On This One
He frenched the antenna didn't shave the drip rail. I'm not a big fan of shaving the drip rail.
It definitely has some tasteful mods.

Re: Fine Custom Touches On This One
Yeah, I expected to see a shaved drip rail, too. I don't like that, but I wouldn't do any of the other stuff either. My buddy noticed the hem at the bottom of the rockers stuck out like a sore thumb with such a smooth look. I wouldn't do that, either, but have to agree this truck was calling for that. I guess we can always find something to point out when it's someone else's truck. Or, when it's all there done and looking at it is more like it, yours or theirs

Re: Fine Custom Touches On This One
That's right, he did fill that. So, I ssume you all noticed it says Silverod on the tailgate, right? That reminds me off a '78 Silverado I bought that had a Harley Davidson sticker on the back window. It was the early emblem type, just letters. I stared at that till I figured out you can actually get Silverado out of Harley Davidson. I went out and bought a sticker and rearranged it to say Silverado across the bottom of the window

You sure have to respect the fab skills of whoever built the truck.

Re: Fine Custom Touches On This One
There is a company that does those flush mount back glasses he has a you tube thing on them. They don't impress much [the guys doing the install] the truck they did it on probably doubled in value once he paid for the glass work if you know what I mean. I don't think they are terrible expensive either.

Re: Fine Custom Touches On This One
It's always the first weekend in June. Next year just remember to Google NSRA Nationals East, or just NSRA and on their site they will show a schedule of events. I try to catch this every year. One of my must-dos for the summer. Coming up on June 28th is the 26th annual show held by Liberty Street Rods in Winfield, MD (Carroll County). Check the Wuzzup 2015 thread in the regions section (NW). Posted the info there. It's about 1/10th the size, being local, but 300 cars is something worth looking at. It's always on a Sunday
