Need help with quadrajet rebuild kit number

I have a quadrajet on my 68 c10. It came off of something else as it is fitted on a 350 which did not come stock in my year model.

17059520 appears to be the carburetor number

3328 CCP as stamped under the number.

Can someone point me to the correct rebuild kit for this carburetor and a part number if possible. This is the last part of my drivetrain rebuild that needs to be done before firing up and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Need help with quadrajet rebuild kit number

In other words, I can give this number to O'Reillys and they can give me the correct rebuild kit?

Is it the first number I provided or the second one underneath?

Hey Jimmy,

Are you putting in brass bushings in the throttle shaft?

I have the drill bit and tools. PM me and I will let you use them. I think I even have some extra brass bushings.

Re: Need help with quadrajet rebuild kit number

Just found the part at a NAPA dealer near me. I was not planning on replacing the bushings in the throttle shaft as everything is very tight and has no play.

Is there cause do do this anyway? My uncle is helping me rebuild the carb since he has rebuilt hundreds of them over the years. He says the the carb is in real good shape it has just not been run regularly in a long time.

I am open to advice though.

“3328 CCP”

This is a very rare carburetor!

33 = Import inspector number

2 = 1972

8 = shipping container

CCP = Chinese Communist Party

In 1972, then President Nixon made his historic trip to China. Nixon brought along many, many gifts both cultural and non-cultural. Nixon’s advisors felt that the inclusion of some of “the best of American Technological marvels” would be appropriate. A selection committee found that the Rochester Quadrajet was perfect to showcase our superior engineering capabilities in the automotive field and a few hundred were delivered to Beijing.

Only a few years ago, one of Nixon’s secret white-house tapes was found and the following conversation documented:

Nixon: Did they get the box of carbs?

Haldeman: Yes, Sir. Chairman Mao sends his thanks and hopes our automotive industries will join to help the world be a better place.

Nixon: Hahahahahahaha! Those gas-guzzling sons of ******* (expletive deleted) will set their car industry back 30 yrs and probably wipe out their entire strategic petroleum reserves!

Haldeman: I love it when a plan comes together, Sir!

It is thought that a rare few of the original carburetors were secretly air-dropped onto a Japanese automobile factory in retaliation…but the Japanese recognized the ploy and dropped them at the US Embassy in Tokyo where they were forwarded back to GM and simply returned to the production line.

Congratulations on an impressive find!*

*I am kidding of course, they sent Holley carbs...
