Don't forget to tell them that each part must be removed, inspected, cleaned, repaired, painted, greased, rewired and then put back in its place. Nearly twice as much work than building it in the factory.

It only takes about 8 hours for the factory to build it (once the cab/box are painted).

So - quite a bit more than twice as much, I'd say.

Re: stop asking when it will be done!!!

I thinks its just the stress that gets to me. I put myself on a to be done by a date, and when someone asks it kinda reminds me of all the stuff I still need/want to do to it!!! just wanted to release some steam...

Re: stop asking when it will be done!!!

I get people to stop asking by baffling them. I don't answer, I just say,"Restoration is about the process, not the result". HUH??? I can see it in their face. They wouldn't be asking if they understood that. They just don't get it. We don't restore to have a new car. If we wanted that we would go buy one. Sure, we want that prize at the end, but if you are in it for the result and not the process you should go find a hobby you like and just buy a restored vehicle

AHA!!! You just identified the problem..... all ya gotta do is look in the mirror.

Stop setting dates, you're just setting yourself up for more stress. It'll be done when it's finished.

Oh BTW...... when is it gonna be done??

Re: stop asking when it will be done!!!

That's my other reply, and I use it at work as well, "This ain't no reality show!"
I never got what was with all the deadlines and tension. actually, I do know it is all about the drama to get people sucked in. When I have something in the shop to get custom paint or whatever, I put absolutely no pressure on the guy at all. It is custom work and it is done when it's done and it costs what it costs. So why have a "production" pop out a dozen at a time attitude? I know the goal at the end is worth how ever long it takes. It happens every February here at Harley shops. "I gotta have it done for Daytona" (first week in March). I always think, "You had all winter, but you wait till every joker in town wants to have their stuff done the last minute". I mean, they want things sent out for chrome or the latest custom touch and they want it now. People these days ask me how long will this take. I'm thinking "till it's done" or "I thought you called me for a good job, but now you want a quick one?"

"The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of a cheap price"... Or a quick job

Re: stop asking when it will be done!!!

I tell them there are 3 options...... good.. cheap.. and fast. Now pick two

If its good and cheap it wont be fast
If its cheap and fast it wont be good
if its fast and good it wont be cheap

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
