Tach dash with vacuum find at the junkyard.
I am pretty excited to finally find a dash with the vacuum gauge. And to find one with the tach too is just awesome. Just a small piece of plastic missing around one of the screws. I am trying to figure out what I want to do with it now. Are there any good write ups on restoring these dash with the kind of paint and tips and tricks for restoring the actual guages?

Nice find. That cluster is out of a C50/C60. You will have to trim it to clear the column.

I saw the trim line and was wondering about that. I think I have a dash Bezel already that doesn't have a cracked and is already trimmed. We will see.

Yep, regardless, the guts alone are a great find. The tins are the big deal, now you have all you need to build a new one with a new bezel and lens - will look great. Check to see, may be an 80 psi oil pressure gauge also, but not for sure - should be stamped. Same setup I have on mine.

Here is what the outside of the back looks like. I havent opened up to look inside yet. Is this good or bad? To me it looks like mostly surface rust and that I could sand is down and spray with flat clear coat

I took a look at the dash Bezel real quick but I didn't see a stamp that said 80 psi nor anything else similar to that. Is it on the inside or outside of the assembly?

It would be on the gauge itself in small print. I think you have to take the oil/vac unit out from the back to see it. The tach/vac cluster I have has the 80# gauge in it. LockDoc
