New and need help GMC longhorn. Parking brake

Hi there, My name is Steven, and I have recently purchased a 1971 GMC longhorn 3/4ton with a 350 engine.

I got my interests in these trucks at a young age and working on them with my late father. My first vehicle was a 1971 GMC 1/2 to 250 inline 6 3 on the tree. Between my father, my brother and myself we had 9 or so. I sold my truck when I was 18 and have always lock back wishing I had not done that.

I have been working on old sleds from John Deere for many years and they have a nice parts look up online and service manuals in order to do repairs and overhauls.

I need to get a list of parts for this truck's parking brake system, but am having a difficult time finding a parts break down with illustration. in order to see what I am missing so i can then in order what I need.

Can you please point me in the right direction on where I will find a complete parts breakdown and listing of all the different assembles/systems for these trucks.

At this point I need to get the parking brake working but some of the cable and attchemnt under the cab and bed are missing.

There are a lot of websites and resources on this forum. You can use the box at the top of the page marked Google and select 67-72 chevy trucks.com or web and this will take you to the truck site area or the web. It may be what you are looking for. Another way would be the Factory shop manual and also the factory assembly manual.

Page 139 in the LMC catalog will give you a great picture and part numbers.
