i had been planning to put my transmission in today for about a week and i wake up this morning and this is what i see out my back door, now this is Texas and it is DFW at that now i have to wait about a week to put my trans in my truck.

Too bad that didn't happen during the week, all the schools and business' would be closed. I hear Mississippi has a winter storm warning for tonight...so much for this global warming theory

i would be out there if i could lay down under the truck and stay dry, i am going to do a little bit to it today maybe if i feel like it.

Shoot it's only a little snow and the colder it is the faster you would have to work I usally throw down a tarp and go to town couple of hour's and ya be done..

HOLY SH!T .. I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE GOING TO LET A LITTLE DUSTING OF SNOW HOLD YOU UP FOR A WEEK. I LIVED IN MICHIGAN, WITHOUT A GARAGE FOR MANY MANY YEARS & OCCASIONALLY HAD TO WORK ON MY TRUCKS IN THE 5 MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR THAT HAD THAT WHITE STUFF ON THE GROUND.
SUCK IT UP ..... ACT LIKE YOU HAVE A PAIR FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. GET SOMETHING LIKE A PIECE OF CARDBOARD, A BLANKET OR A TARP. A LITTLE BIT OF COLD OR WET WONT KILL YA.

i must agree, i don't have ANY sympathy for you, lol. just yesterday i had to put almost 2 qts of 90w in my transfer case at the parking lot at Kent. I had to lay on a piece of cardboard, and the wind was blowing something fierce. by the time i was done i couldnt feel either of my hands, and did you know that used 90w doesn't taste that good?

Just hope it gets a little deeper.Then you'll have a wind break to keep the air from blowing you out from under the truck.
BTW it's obvious you have another ride or you would be fixing it instead of whining.

part of it is shear laziness it just feels like one of those days where you dont want to do $hit, you know like someone dumped in you cheerios or something.

All that white stuff will probably be gone later this afternoon! Supposed to be in the 50's Sunday. I wanted more and colder temps! I've got a couple of three wheelers that are a blast in the white stuff!

yeah, i woke up and was quite surprised....wasn't too bad, took my friends tahoe to the car show. expecting ice on the way, wasn't any. we took it mudding last night and high centered, pulled the shift cable out of the tranny, couldn't put it in park, it would drive though, so drove back to her house and crawled under the truck, in the rain, it was could, but we got it fixed.

i feel sorry for you DFW guys, i don't know if it is the same in DFW as in houston when you get snow and ice, because when it snows, or there is ice here no one can drive. might as well stay home.

those damn northen boys can laugh at us about that......

Krazy, no need to wait a week.... it usually only takes a day for drastic weather change.

As for the 'whining', I didn't read it that way. For all you guys that have to work on your trucks in sub-zero temps amid 30mph snow drifts (outside, no gloves, one hand behind your back) Texas is a big state & should be able to accommodate you.

Now anyone who says they enjoy working on a truck in freezing conditions has never done it 'cause the slightest slip of the wrench causes pain x10 compared to normal temps. Emergency repairs?, sure.... but not just because it needs to get done.

that video came off a dfw mini truck site. in other words that was in texas
