Great pictures as always of this truck!

Tyler, Don't be getting ideas... I've already claimed first refusal if it ever comes up for sale. :-)

Re: cleaned and cruised dads longhorn pics

Ha, thanks guys, I appreciate the support. All I do really is clean and maintain. Dads the one who took such good care of it. Ps, pb, a real cruiser with a great v8 sound. Gas mileage and exhaust fumes suck. Oh well.

I'm north of ABQ

Yes that is a nice looking longhorn! Is yours still stouting a 402 BB with a turbo 400 transmission? Just wondering since you said mileage sucks. . .

Re: cleaned and cruised dads longhorn pics

Yea, what SSTim said. He probably knows more about my truck (about most folks trucks) than I do. Although at some point dad put in a 1975 engine and duel exhaust. The driving I do is to town and back, maybe 20 miles RT every two weeks or so, so lots of stop and go, slow speed cruising. Mileage might be better out on the open road. Need new tires before I go there. I haven't measured the mpg yet. I love the truck! And this board and mostly it's members, so many helpful folks.

Re: cleaned and cruised dads longhorn pics

Okay cool I was brainstorming ideas to get your mileage up, so it definitely helps to know it's alot of stop and go. hard to increase mileage in situations like that maybe switch up the rear end ratio to 3.73 or . . . just an idea. I have an in law with a 70 c30 cst longhorn that put a 700r4 and put some extra "ponies" under the hood ontop of his 402BB and he gets about 14-15 mpg normally unless lots of stop and go. I plan on doing something similar once I get the chance
