Difference between 68 and 69-72 fenders

A gentleman has a pair of rust free classic bronze fenders for sale at a good price but doesn't know what year. I looked at them and think they're 69-72 but not sure, how can I tell? I know 67 has no marker light but 68 from a 69-72 IDK. Thanks in advance

Re: Difference between 68 and 69-72 fenders

67-68 Chevy fenders have no recess for the front grill, 69-72 do.

67-72 GMC fenders are just like 67-68 fenders (no recess for front grill).

Re: Difference between 68 and 69-72 fenders

Ignoring that 67's don't have side markers...

1967-68 Chevy AND 1967 to 1972 GMC fenders on left. These fenders look smooth and clean at the front and come to a point.

1969-1972 Chevrolet ONLY fenders (the grill mounts over top of the "notch") on the right. These are easy to tell as they have an "ugly notch" on the front that the grille mounts over.

Thanks, as I expected the fenders are 69-72. The photo proves what I thought

I figured they were... Not 100% sure but I don't think that was a 67/68 color. At least you're sure now.

Re: Difference between 68 and 69-72 fenders

This has me curious now. ..what about the gmc/chevy hoods? Would a 69-72 gmc hood match the 69-72 chevy hood?...minus emblem mounting differences.

69-72 hoods are the same except for GMC/Bowtie emblems.

Raggedjim is correct.

GMC kept the 67/68 style fender all the way through 72, but changed the hoods just as Chevrolet did in 69 (same hood, just different emblem holes) and "made up the difference" with fat pieces of trim around the grille.
