Help on tire size

I'm looking to get some new wheels and tires. I'm
I'm thinking of rocket booster wheels. 20" x 8 1/4 and I'm not sure what size tires to get. I have a 69 that's been lowered and would like some opinions on tire size.

Re: Help on tire size

Here is a pict of my new wheels and tires. Rocket Booster 6's 9 inch width with 275/40/20 with Toyo Proxes St's. I have a 3-5 drop but will probably go another inch or two in the back. Awesome set up. What a difference they make.

Re: Help on tire size

Nice looking truck you have there.

I'm not a 20" wheel guy. You need tire that fills up the opening and you need a sidewall IMO as well. Here is my '69 with 4.5" drop front (2" springs 2 1/2" disc spindles) and axle flip in the rear. Fronts are 235 55 17 on 17x8 wheels with 4.5" bs and rears are 275 55 17 with 5" bs on a 17x9 inch rim.

Re: Help on tire size

I bought 235's and wish I had gone bigger. Here's a picture of mine. Only picture I have with the Mastercraft tires installed, stock ride height.

Also check this thread with opinions of other board members.
