70 Body manual help--license plate holder image

Does anyone have the body manual image as to where to mount the license plate holder on a 1970 SWB Stepside without a rear bumper?

I recently acquired the plate holder but have no idea how/where it's supposed to be mounted. The chassis service manual does not appear to have an image.

Heck, even an image of someone with one mounted on their truck would help.

Thanks

I'm not asking about one with a bumper. I'm asking about a Stepside that came from the factory without a bumper. Below is a pic of the bracket they came with to hold and light the license plate.

Don't have a picture, but I have seen these mounted off either the brake light or reverse light brackets. Usually it seems they stick out too far. I have also seen a fabbed bar connected to the bumper mounts, for the single purpose of hanging a plate.

Hmm, interesting. Sticking out too far isn't good. Might have to figure out another location. Still, if someone has a pic of one mounted...

I've seen these on early 50's AD style trucks.

Maybe the pic in this thread will help. It looks like your bracket has an extra piece bolted on.

Thanks for the link. I was under the impression that bracket was for mounting purposes, but maybe not?

Re: 70 Body manual help--license plate holder image

Any more thoughts on location and that extra mounting bracket? It's been pretty hot here and I haven't had much time to more closely check out a location on the truck, but upon cursory inspection, I'm not entirely sure how it'd mount.

That's a good question. I'll definitely look out for it prior to mounting.
