What did you do to your Suburban Today?

See it in other sections and not here (Even did a search) well big girls need love too! So What did you do?

I cleaned out the interior of mine and found the missing "G" from my tailgate emblem.

It was a nice small surprise

I washed mine. It takes a ladder to get the roof

Fixed my leaky power steering hose. Custom work never ends.

Spent some time tuning. I still have a stumble like a weak accelerator pump shot. Software tuning is new to me.

HA I gave it a quick bath as well. The step ladder comes in handy

Took it in for an alignment. Check out the weight bench setup they have in their shop.

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Really all I used was 3m heavy duty rubbing compound applied by hand onto the body and wiped it down with terry cloth, probably not the easiest or most conventional way. But it works for me that's how I did my k5 and my gmc.

And here's the gmc, all trucks had/have heavily oxidized paint. The gmc has had a repaint in its life however. The other trucks have there factory paint.

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Continued some work on Goldmember..

Moving to the rear, I began to disassemble the rear axle in prep for the C-Notch.. Well, Guess they don't make sockets as good as the old days, with a short breaker bar I ended up with these..

So out came the sawzall and plasma.
went from this:to this:

continued on attacking the rivets.. Man I hate rivets!!

I ended the day after getting the passenger side mocked in. I only need to finish drilling a couple mounting holes, and painting all areas that will be inaccessible.
Forgot to get pics of that..

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Put the seats back in including my buddy bucket set with some uhhh temporary covers. Old contest shirts from a few of the contests I've done/won until I can save up the $$ to get some fawn covers stitched up

I'm going to have to do that. Once all the mechanicals are done.

I think some good shine could be brought back from this original paint

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

Been busy bringing the old girl back to life. been off the road since 1990. Today I rekeyed the rear lift gate key cylinder for $10 at our local locksmith.
In the last 2 weeks I have installed headers, glass packs, welded custom bent pipes to the outside of the frame to flowmasters that exit before rear tire, ran power to my power heated memory seats, adjusted secondaries on the carb, replaced dash bulbs, rebuilt the leaking right front wheel cylinder, got the air horn working, installed rear wheel spacers. Still lots to do.

Re: What did you do to your Suburban Today?

I originally put a 3.5/4 inch drop on the Burb but I don't like how low it sat in the rear so today I changed the rear coils to 2 inch lowering springs and I like how it looks now.
The pic on the top is 3.5/4 inch drop and the pic on the bottom is what the Burb looks like now with a 3.5/2 inch drop.

Took the heater box off to clean out a nest and stop some rust from spreading near the blower motor

I think so to, here is hopefully a peek at how much it comes back to life with a little bit of effort. May be hard to tell, but in this shot I have not done the tailgate..
