Re: window regulator
You have to remove the vent window and disassemble the window from the regulator inside the door. The hats what I had to do anyway

Re: window regulator
It seems like the vent window wont come out cause the door window is in the way binding it

Re: window regulator
It will come out, you may have to take the window off the regulator first. Pretty much disassemble everything in the door th n pull it out piece by piece. Same going in, put it all in the door and assemble inside. Your wrists will be pissed off by the time your done

Re: window regulator
Here is how I remove my windows and vents.
Remove the inside door handle and window riser handle. Remove the door inner panel. Remove the inner and outer window sweeps. (You can’t pull the wing window back to get it out of the door frame with them in place) Pull the door window channel out of the door frame at the top by the wing window. (You can’t pull the wing window back to get it out of the door frame with it in place) Remove the two ¼” machine screws at the bottom of the "rear" window channel and the ¼” machine screw from the the top of the "rear" window channel by the door latch. You can leave the channel in the door but push it back in the corner. (If you are going to replace the window felt channel pull it all out starting up by the top of the wing window) Roll the door window down and slide it back away from the wing window. Remove the three small flat head screws that go through the angled part of the door frame and into the wing window, then remove the two ¼” machine screws from the bottom holes in the inner door that screw into the bottom bracket of the wing window. From the inside of the vehicle tip the wing window back and pull it up a ways, then rotate it so that the bottom mounting bracket will slide out of the opening when you slide it all the way up and tip it toward you. Any questions post 'em up.... LockDoc __________________

Don't like the current version of "power window".

Re: window regulator
Why would my window regulators not hold up the glass? the only thing keeping the window closed at the moment is a length of wire tied around the vent window handle holding the window crank up. A few months back I couldn't roll the window down at all, so I took off the door panel and soaked it with WD40. But now I can't get it to stay up. Help!

Re: window regulator
40 year old worn out parts is why it won't stay up.

Re: window regulator
On another related thread, someone suggested lubricating the heck out of everything. Unlike 77ChevySS, my problem is the old felt channel near the latch, was pinching when the window is up, so I soaked that with spray oil, since it's not the glass running in it. I know, dust/dirt will get attracted to that, but for now......
If restoring, replace everything!
