What do you think? My new long step bed.
Spotted this at the local u-wrench-it. Wait for 2 hrs for them to put it on the lot. 2 hrs and $75 later it's loaded on my truck. Came off of a 67 chevy, cab was trashed. I will need new wood and trim for the bed. But stood on the steps and they were solid and all the cross piece are solid. Has some crappy peeling paint.

SCORE!!!!!!! Nice bed. Those fenders are worth every penny...to say nothing of the rest of it. Long narrow beds are rare.

Those are the wrong fenders for a 67, you should bring them to me. Damn, can't believe you paid only $75 Jim.

I saw the truck on Saturday, asked them when they were putting it out. They said about 12 on Monday so I was there at 1130 and did not get to even look at it until 130 by 330 I was on my way home with it tied down. The wood was about 1/2 gone and I had to cut a piece of steel plate out just to look at the bed. Fortunate they let me bring in my generator and grinder.
Was looking at an LMC catalog, they want $380 just for the wood, and it's not pre-drilled. Definetly going to shop around. Going to put the bed on the 71 I'm buying from Dean.

Look at any local hardwood cutters, I bet they would help you out for a little cheaper than LMC, plus you could have the wood hand picked and made to order.

Jim's "new" truck is running and ready. It will be nice to see it get the attention that it needs. I'd post some new pics, but they just gave me a new laptop here at work without a disk drive.... That sucks when your digital cam used disks.....oh well.

Been raining all day today have not had a chance to look those over. I was wondering about those side markers also. I think they are just reflectors.
On the bed, I went to GMC Pauls site and his wood kits are almost $100 cheaper and pre-drilled. He also has all the dimensions for the boards so I might end up fabbing my own.

Throw away the wood, cut the bed out of a fleetside to fit, weld it in and spray in a liner. No more wood rot!
Nice score, Scott

Thanks everybody. The markers are just reflectors with two screws no lights. Those will go.
Kerry, oh yea. Told my wife that it will not stop with the 2nd one either.
