Parts Suppliers

Having got my truck home at the weekend there, Ive started to make up a list of the parts I need to order up. Being in Scotland I want to try and get enough parts in the first shipment to last me a good many months of cutting and welding etc.

The wonderful things is there are so many suppliers of parts for the trucks.

The down side is there are so many suppliers of parts for the trucks?

I have absolutely no idea how to choose.

A couple of the lads in the UK has mentioned LMC as a good supplier and in the main that seems to be confirmed on the forum.

A lot of people also say that Classic Parts are a good supplier and the guy who supplied my truck uses them and I can get him to ship the parts with his vehicle shipments which may help a bit with the cost.

So overall I think Classic Parts will be who I go with but can anyone say of that's a good move or a bad one.

My initial order is going to be largely made up of the like of fenders, a tailgate, door skins and other sheet metal parts. can anyone comment on the quality of Classic Parts sheet metal work?

Re: Parts Suppliers

I have used Classic Parts of America for almost 30 years and have been very happy with them. Also look at the forum supporting vendors for your needs, they will treat you right and answer any question you may have.

On the forum's index page, scroll down almost to the bottom and you'll see "Vendor Reviews"
Some good, some bad. Be sure to check it out.

Re: Parts Suppliers

Hi Guy's,

Yes found that after Clyde65's reply.

Still getting used to the forum. I'll get there in the end.

So far most posts about Classic Parts are in favour of them. Working through the rest.

Thanks for the feedback. Bill

Re: Parts Suppliers

Hi Iceman,

Thanks for the feedback. I surprised, pleasantly so, just how many of us have trucks over here.

I didn't think there would be so many.

Re: Parts Suppliers

I've used Classic Parts for most of my small parts, Early Classic for my drop spindles and disk brakes and Top Banana for my sheetmetal and have been very happy with all of them.

Re: Parts Suppliers

I went with Top Banana for all my sheet metal. So far so good! Still have a lot to do so I'll see how the rest of the patch panels fit but like I said, so far so good!

Re: Parts Suppliers

You could try Bills Truck Shop in Courtice Ontario Canada. Near Toronto. You could save yourself a bundle due to the currency exchange rate...

Worth a look.
