Metal tag by battery box?

Just wondering what this metal tag is for? It has 2 dots on it and is by the battery box. I was thinking some type of identification plate but no numbers on it. It is on our 66 gmc 3/4 4x4. Thanks for any thoughts.

Re: Metal tag by battery box?

It probably used to be a relay mount. It would have had a small metal box spot welded to the bracket you have there. It would house the electrical relay.

I agree.....it could have also been a circuit breaker? Regardless it's not factory.
