I have never heard of one coming off unless it is broken. I would have to look at one of mine to see if it can be replaced.... What year is it?

Re: hood latch

I had to replace a missing spring in my C30 last week. It's easy but best accomplished (though not necessary) if the latch is removed from the rad support. The upright "hook" that secures the hood has a tiny eye-hole at its base where the rear spring end passes through - there is a notch on the forward part of the latch for the anterior spring end. I got a spring from a local nut/bolt dealer.
