hood emblem

I have a vintange bowtie hood emblem for my 69, has the two pins, how does this install, drill of course, but size?, and these pins arent bolts, how do they secure, and right behind that front part of hood are reinforcements, hard to g e t to, any tips?

Not sure on size simply compare drill bit sizes to it (surprised there arent any there) perhaps where they shaved?

There are "emblem nuts" that bite down on the pin
