Inner rockers

Hey,

Anybody have some pics of how the inner rocker attaches to the inside of the outer rocker? Just replaced the floor and they don't mate up. I've been looking through the search mode on this, but can't find any pics. Also read the debates on inner rocker trapping moisture vs no inner rocker, so, I'm trying to decide if I even have a problem here. (seems to be a lot of people on both sides of this issue.)

You replaced your entire floor ? So you should have new inner rockers. The rockers have a lip on the bottom that kindve grabs the bottom of the inner rocker

I did replace the whole floor. The inner rockers don't meet the bottom of the outer rockers. The doors fit, and the gaps about right, so I'm not really sure what happened. Think I'm going to extend the inners to me the rocker because it bothers me that its not right.

It should be a basic flat sheet there between the A and B pillar. The rockers are spot welded at the top and along the lip at the bottom.Jim

Your rockers may be off, I can measure my inner rocker from top to bottom if you'd like, maybe give you an idea where you're having the issue

Thanks, but their all welded in. Everything else is fine. Their not coming off again until they rust off.
The outer rockers are where they need to be for the doors, so, I'm not sure what happened.

this is where I spot welded it in along the floor and on the bottom edge. Does this help?

Thanks Metaldoc. but id really like to see the other side. the inners on mine don't go all the way to where you spot welded yours. I guess if I was to do it all over again, I would have put a few spot welds in the floor, then put on the rockers, and made sure the inners met the outers on the inside. I still pleased with my first time installation of a whole floor though. It did came out better than I hoped for.

I will say that I put a cab "kit" from one of the vendors on a customers truck. i liked it so much I plan on using the same for some of mine that I'll build when i get to them. BUT on the left side the rocker seem to be too short meaning the inner rocker did not fill the place when I added the outer rocker. It was like the was a gap stating about ten inches or so from there back side that seemed to have a wider gap as it went to the back of the truck to a point of a gap big enough to stick my fingers in. meaning there wasn't anything to spot the bottom of the rocker to as there was no lip to weld. I ended up cutting a piece and welding to the end[bottom] of the inner that filled that gap perfectly and then I was able to complete the welding on the bottom. It just needed a little addition to the bottom of the inner to make it come out like the guy had the inner in the brake a little off when it sheared.

hugger6933, yes, that's what I did today, started putting in filler pieces. This is going to be one solid cab when I'm done.
Still not sure what I did wrong, or if it was just all of the different patches and rockers from different manufactures. I couldn't have lowered the floor any more, or there would of been gaps where the floor met the toe boards. Couldn't of raised the rockers, because then the doors would not have fit. Its a big mystery Scooby doo! It don't matter now, I'll fix it and carry on.

I'm fitting my PS outer rocker and the inner is about 1/2" short of reaching the outer rocker flange. Sounds like it's a common issue. Using TriPlus panels from top banana.

The cab Kit i just installed on a customers truck I did the drivers side first and that is the one that needed the filler panel made to fix the rocker. Now when i moved on to the pass side I figured the same would occur but no, the rh rocker fit the lip like it should. I said before it could be the stamp or the stamper making things a little more fun for us out in the world.
