How to identify the Rear End?

How do you identify a Dana 60 Rear End? I have a 1970 GMC C20 long bed with leaf springs in the rear. It has a 10 Bolt rear end. It is a Full Floater with 12" Drums. The Drums just SLIDE OFF, the Axles do not need to be removed to take off the Drums. It has 7 bolts attaching the Backing Plate to the Axle Housing. It is 8 Lug with 1/2" x20 Wheel Studs. Looking at the diff cover, on the passenger side, it has a code written upside-down C-30255, and below that it has the number 60. Is this a Dana 60 Rear End?

Re: How to identify the Rear End?

That thread is mostly about front axles, but same center section. The last picture does show a rear. funny how GM corporate rears got named by number of bolts on differential cover (10-bolt/12-bolt) when that doesn't say squat. Just GM alone used four different rears that I can think of that had 10 bolts for the differential cover. And the Dana rears were found in GM, Ford, Dodge, IH trucks, Mopar cars, Jeeps, on and on

If it's peculiarly shaped it's Kim Kardashian's, if it's perfect it's Carla Gugino's? That's all I can offer.
